Lavender Twilight 5ply

5ply Shetland is our newest yarn range, introduced in 2023. A worsted spun, plied Sport Weight yarn made from 100% Real Shetland Wool, it’s perfect for Gansey knitting, Fair Isle garments, and traditional accessories. The structure and handle make it ideal for creating crisp, long-wearing fabrics with beautiful stitch definition.

The colour palette is inspired by Shetland’s dramatic landscape and rich maritime heritage. The range includes 20 shades in total – 13 dyed on a White base, and 7 'Twilight' shades created by overdyeing the same colours on a Natural Grey base, giving a deeper, more muted tone.

• 100% Real Shetland Wool
• Sport / 5ply weight
• 50g ball – approx. 115m / 125yds
• 250g cone – approx. 575m / 625yds
• Suggested needle size: 3mm
• Handwash, dry flat

Tension / Gauge

• 26 sts x 34 rows = 10cm (4in) on 3mm needles in stocking stitch
• 26 sts x 32 rows = 10cm (4in) on 3mm needles in Fair Isle
