Shade 202 is light fawn (the first shade we produced in the 1960s!).

Our Jumper weight yarns are 100% Shetland wool traditionally used to knit Fair Isle garments. Available in the full palette of beautiful shades originally designed by Jamieson and Smith, this yarn is our flagship yarn, and cannot be imitated in terms of depth of colour and spinning quality - although many have tried! 2ply refers to the plys in the yarn, this wool is a 4ply Woollen Spun thickness.

Please Note: 2ply Jumper Weight does not have names for shades, the descriptions given here are for reference only to help you. The stickers may also have a name on them, this is from the spinner and again just a reference, only go by the shade number.

This is called stone, and is white, whereas I wanted light fawn which is golden.

Thank you for your feedback, we have not changed this colour - it is light fawn 202. You can see at the top of the 2ply Jumper Weight page we have a note 'Please Note: 2ply Jumper Weight does not have names for shades, the descriptions given here are for reference only to help you. The stickers may also have a name on them, this is from the spinner and again just a reference, only go by the shade number. Although every effort has been made here to photograph the shade as near as possible different screens may change how it looks. The best thing to do is have a Shade Card as this contains a physical sample of each shade'.

My daughter chose the colour and she’s very happy with it. I’m making her a crochet crop top! I love the quality and everything about this yarn.

I really like the fact that J&S are not naming their shades, describing the colour in words is much more helpful.
