Jamieson & Smith are committed to helping preserve the long history of the rich fibre traditions of Shetland. Through the cooperative element of our online shop, we are promoting some of the best hand selected, textile artists from throughout the UK who use 100% Shetland Wool from Shetland, and produce garments, accessories and textile art which is made in the UK.

By promoting these products, we are not only helping the companies who produce them. We are promoting the use of Shetland wool in the hope that we can keep Shetland wool on the world textile stage as a top quality, sustainable fibre, and to give it the recognition it deserves. In doing this, we endeavour to keep raising the price paid to the primary producer here in Shetland- the crofters and farmers who breed Shetland Sheep and ensure that this beautiful wool keeps coming in to our woolstore here in Lerwick.
